Social difference of potentials

Social difference of potentials is extreme values of capabilities indexes in intentions realization process by subjects of one frame of society.

In term of physics any social subject and social system can be characterized by two parameters: the rest energy and the kinetic energy.

The rest energy or the “mass” is a resource that a subject (or system) has.

The kinetic energy is a resource of the impact on the world around us.

The sum of these two energies determines the “energy intensity” of the subject.

An important parameter is the speed of the transformation one energy into another. This is the “index of innovation”.

“Index of innovation” shows how fast the subject or system is able to transform its rest energy impact on the world, and vice versa – the ability of the world to form transformations into accumulation of its own “mass”.

In modern society money is the most often “energy intensity” measurement. But in the same time modern money is not the only reliable way to measure the subject’s and social systems’ social energy. Among promising scales of measurement is subjectivity’s “reputational authority”. This is a complex parameter the essence is the ability of the subject or of the system to convert authority (reputational potential) to the outside world’s transformations and vice versa (more detailed description can be found in the chapter “Reputation potential (capital)”.

Subjectivity form the social systems of various scales and different types and at the same time the overall system’s energy is formed by the vectorial sum of kinetic energy and the simple sum of the rest energy. From this social difference of potentials follows. This is an important parameter for the social system’s entropy – the residual between the lowest and highest energy saturation of its subjects. The dynamics of the system changes entropy can be either positive or negative.

Our society in the current historical moment is a society with increasing entropy. Every year there is less and less “residual”. In fact, now the formation of a single global social system – “Planet Earth’ – is proceeding to its completion and this system is currently looped. There is a constant (and growing) decrease the difference system-wide including social difference of potentials. Consequently humanity is moving towards a situation of society’s “heat death” – a society of supreme equality (minimum difference).

This process is currently manifest itself the most in Europe. In particular the concept of universal and comprehensive tolerance leads to an accelerated reduction of “difference”, limiting of the individuality displays and to the movement of the social system to the level of minimum kinetic energy of its members. Hopefully, the described situation is the local trend, limited by observation and observer, and outside of the observation field this trend is going to change.

Personally, I believe that society should be built on the principle of “optimal inequality”: a “difference of potentials” must be included in the social system which stimulates the change (transfer from rest energy into kinetic energy), and the global social system either must be open outwardly or include many of different systems.

Nowadays we can observe an expansive type of humanity’s evaluation bumped into the natural framework – the atmosphere boundary of the planet Earth – and began to engage into self-destruction: further global society development by absorbing some civilizations by other ones. Within this global movement increasingly energy transformation occurs with “difference of potentials” transition firstly into kinetic energy, and then to the rest energy.

Tendentious (look ahead) result of this situation would be the creation of a single lopped social system that quickly come to a state of “heat death” – a unified society with minimal social difference of potential (a society of universal sameness).

Either there is a conflict of two or more “supreme societies” formed in the process of globalization, followed by the subsequent disintegration of mankind into small social enclaves and the beginning of a “social thermodynamics” new cycle – social diversity increasing…

At the same time there is still a possibility of a transition of the “mankind” social system on a fundamentally different level of quality and the birth of brand new varieties and other open social systems (another globalism level).

Besides the aspiration’s manifestation of global society to a “heat death”, there is one more interesting aspect – the modern society organization is still vertically oriented and hierarchical.

In this hierarchy the altitude parameter is the ability to affect the world around us (to change society). The most common and generally accepted altitude’s measurement scale is money. In the modern society it is not only “the money that you own,” but “the money that you can get.”

Mankind and social systems within are still divided into layers (in Marxism – the social classes, in marketing – consumer grades), in which the individuals and groups can move freely enough. But to move to another (“higher” or “lower”) layer a “personal energetic” qualitative leap required. The same as it stated in quantum physics for electron to change its orbit (more detailed description can be found in the chapter “Current communicational model”).

Important social system’s parameters are energy “width” of each layer, the number of layers, and the energy transfer between the layers.

Let’s think that hypothetically the sum of the energies of all the individuals of each layer in the social system is equal. Thus the higher on the layer is the energy of personal subjectivity the less subjectivity this layer is able to accommodate. Hence the difference between the average energies of personal subjectivity on different layers (the total energy constant divided by the number of subjectivity) is equal to the transition energy or “social difference of potentials.”

Among important parameters to describe subjectivity or groups of subjectivity (within the social system) is an index of innovation. In today’s world it is possible to express this index in the relation between rest energy (how much money has been accumulated by the subject) and the kinetic energy (how much money the subject is able to raise or invest) in a fixed period of time.
